In addition to the above finished spaces, there is an additional space that needs to be finished. This space is the pop-up addition on top of the original house. It has rough framing for 3 generous bedrooms, each with their own private bath and walk-in closet. The exterior of this space is finished (including siding, roof, and windows) but the interior is not. The interior requires electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, insulation and heating/AC. There is a newly installed oak staircase leading to this space.

















Notes:

  1. The great room provides a place away from the normal traffic flow to entertain in, to have meetings with friends, birthday parties and holiday gatherings. It could also function as a main-level TV room. The room beside it was designed to be a pantry and laundry with an entertainment sink. Currently the laundry and pantry are in the old basement and could be moved to this room if desired. Having the great room for larger gatherings frees up the old living room to function as a cozy entrance way with fireplace in which to engage drop-in friends and visitors.
  2. There are large closets on the hall way adjacent to the garage to store coats, boots and supplies.
  3. The current kitchen is compact and efficient with lots of drawers and cabinet space. If desired it could be extended into the dining area and if desired, the wall between the dining and kitchen (non-load bearing) could be removed. The atrium might then serve as a dining room as desired. Overhead skylights, exposed brickwork, overhead fans and a cathedral ceiling make the atrium special.
  4. If a second bathroom is desired on the main level, the 12 x 9 bedroom could be converted into a generously sized bathroom. Power, hot and cold water, and waste water are accessible in the unfinished laundry room immediately below. There is also a utilities chase connecting the unfinished laundry room to the unfinished second story living space above to allow access to power and water (hot, cold and waste) for the second story. Also in place are a waste water stack, and hot and cold water pipes for the largest second floor bath as indicated in that layout drawing above.
  5. The garage is very generous in size even for a three car garage with lots of space around the vehicles. It is made even more generous by the attached work/storage room.
  6. The space in the floor above the garage is insulated, heated and air conditioned with the walls finished including power outlets, lights and overhead fans. The floor is plywood and could be covered with carpet, laminate, etc. It has operable skylights and sloping walls as can be seen in one of the photos above. It could function as a living space, office space and/or storage space.
  7. The basement leading off the garage is a nice open space with a concrete floor with many large windows and two double doors opening to grade level outdoors. This room could be great for kids rollerskating, a place for exercise equipment, a place to conduct an exercise class, a place to keep your kayaks or canoes, as a deluxe workshop, messy projects place, a place to build a boat, keep gardening tools or a place to start plants next to the large windows. Currently this space has power and lighting, but is not insulated, heated or cooled and the ceiling is unfinished.
  8. The windows are large and numerous making the house light and airy. They are all double paned.
  9. This house comes with two land parcels. County land maps of the two parcels can be viewed here. Enter the address: 9006 Glenbrook Rd and click on "map". This house comes with parcels 24 and 25. The county will not allow an additional house to be constructed on these parcels.
  10. The house is situated about 50 feet higher than the flood plain and does not have the level of flood risk of many of the other parkland houses.
